Happy Valentine!

Since I can remember, the celebration of Valentine is meant for lovers around the world to profess their love for each other on that special day. Not that they cant profess their love on any other days, but it seems that if they do it on the 14th of February, it becomes even more special. That is why on this particular date, items such as flowers would be in high demand causing the price to hike up to a 100%! Not only that, restaurants and hotels would also be taking advantage of that special day by hiking up THEIR prices! But seriously...which girl doesn't like to be pampered with expensive dinners or showered with flowers?!? Whoever says that she doesn't, I can guarantee you that she's lying!

Well, I LOVE being pampered. I would grab any opportunity to be pampered by dearest BF and he knows it all to well! =P. This year, the bouquet that I got was fairly bigger that what I got last year. Not that I'm comparing or anything like that. I love it either way! Ohh...and did I mention that it has this cute teddy bear in the middle???

As part of the tradition of Valentine's day, we were supposed have dinner that night. But since I was still not well (Yes..I was sick on VALENTINE'S DAY! How more depressing can it be?!), we decided to have dinner somewhere near to our house that serve soupy stuff for boring me. =(

We found a place somewhere in Tmn Conought and ordered our food. I remembered ordering soup but apart from that, I cant remember much. That was how drugged and disoriented I was at that time. Its either that, or the food was pretty much forgettable.

Didn't stay there long so as soon as we finish our main dish, we paid the bill and left. I felt bad for BF though, but I was really sick. All I wanted to do was go thru the dinner without me passing out and then straight home to rest.

Got home, ate my medicine and off to bed I went. I didn't even know what time BF came in to sleep.

So there you have it, my boring germ infested Valentine for 2008. Hopefully, next year our celebration would be better and most importantly..germ free!!

Weekend Getaway - Cameron Higland

After the Melaka trip, we decided that we wanted to make this year a visit Malaysia year, whereby we plan to visit one location or state (whichever is convenient) each month.

Since the 1st of Feb was a PH in KL and it was a Friday, we decided to take advantage of the extra day and make a short trip somewhere. Obviously we had to find a place where its not that far away from KL or wont cost us that much. We've been mentioning about driving up to Cameron Highland several times but didn't actually had the time to spare, so with the extra day to the weekend, we decided that it was the perfect time to do so. We would drive up on Friday morning and drive down again the following day so that we have that Sunday to rest. And that was exactly what we did!

We departed from home early that Friday morning in the hope of getting there early. But....the direction that our friend (Sid) gave earlier got us lost and that took an hour of our time as we had to find our way back to the highway! Thank goodness we called another friend of ours (Maya) and she told us to use the highway as it would be easier. Uhuh...she was right. It was wayyyyy much easier that the direction that Sid provided to us. Found out much later that the direction that Sid provided was actually the trunk road leading to Cameron Highland. So for first timers like me and BF, its not advisable to use that road. I'll just stick to the normal route..thank you very much!

After driving for nearly 2 hours plus, we arrived at the foot of the hill. We still have another hour or so to reach the top of the hill so without wasting more time, we began our journey. It poured for a bit when we were on the way up, so we decided to stop at this place called Lata Iskandar to enjoy the scenery as well as give BF sometime to rest from all the driving..

Nice view huh??

After the rain stopped, we continued our journey and reached our destination around noon-ish. No hotels were booked so we went around to search for one and finally ended up at this hotel called "Century Pines Resort". We have no complains about the hotel cos its affordable, the room is big and most importantly, its clean.

The first place that we went to after we arrived was a strawberry park nearby, where you can see rows after rows of strawberry's planted on the soil based that was prepared. Unfortunately, you can only see from outside as they don't allow visitors to go into the green house. We did however, went into the green house next to it to look at flowers..such beautiful flowers they have!

The next day, we checked out of the hotel and before heading down, we visited a few more places. Unfortunately, the camera that I took had a weak battery cos we didn't charge it the night before. So we had to buy a disposable camera cos we wanted to take more photos. Hehe. Will load the picture once i get the time to find where the I place the CD. =P

We arrived home around 8ish as we left Cameron Highland quite late. Would definitely visit the place again and the next time we go there, will probably stay there a bit longer. 3 days 2 nights..perhaps??!
